Michael Pennington:
Let me Play The Lion Too
Michael Pennington, one of the most respected and learned actors, star of stage, screen and radio, reads from his recently published autobiography Let Me Play the Lion Too: How to be an Actor. Not an actor’s guide, more an entertainingly informative memoir about success and failure on the stage.
Pennington draws on his rich and varied career playing numerous roles for the RSC including Hamlet, his acclaimed recreation of Checkhov’s Trigorin at the Old Vic, and his work as co-founder of the touring English Shakespeare Company. He was also uncannily accurate as Michael Foot in the film The Iron Lady. An entertaining master class followed by the opportunity to ask questions.
“A delightfully unconventional yet authoritative book" Benedict Nightingale, The Oldie.
